St George's Cathedral
Georgetown Guyana
Reportedly one of the tallest timber churches in the world standing at 43.6 metres (143 feet). It is constructed mainly of local greenheart timber and some English oak. A variety of architectural features are reminiscent of 12th century gothic cathedrals of England, France and Germany.
Architect - Sir Arthur Bloomfield. Construction completed in 1892.
