Amerindian Dwelling, South Rupunini Savannahs
The illustration depicts a 'ranch style' type dwelling using common building materials. Clay walls support the thick thatched roofs made from the Ite palm. The main sleeping area is on the left whilst the food preparation area is on the right. The main frame and roof support would be held by being tied together. Any windows would either be left as a simple opening, or if necessary have a solid wooden shutter. |
